Dr Sue Dyson

Dr Sue Dyson is a world-renowned expert in equine orthopaedics, combining her clinical skills with those of a rider. Through careful observation and documentation, Dr Dyson has changed many of the ways in which she investigates poor performance in equine athletes. She has published more than 430 papers in peer-reviewed journals with a focus on improving our ability to recognise, diagnose and manage lameness using a team approach.

Dr Sébastien Caure

Dr Sébastien Caure was born in Le Mans (France) in 1970. DVM since 1994 (National Veterinary School of Nantes), he is also a partner since 1999 of the Livet Equin Hospital (Centre Hospitalier vétérinaire Equin de Livet): www.chve- livet.com. His work focuses on the diagnosis and medical treatment of lameness in horses. He is President of the Equi Junior Locomotion Association to promote hoof knowledge among veterinary and farrier students.

Dr Jenny Hagen

Dr. Jenny Hagen is a veterinarian, certified farrier and researcher. Since 2011, she established and leads the research group “Equine biomechanics and orthopeadics” at the Leipzig University, where she still is an associated professor. As a veterinarian, Jenny Hagen is specialized in manual therapy, rehabilitation, behavior and orthopeadics of horses. Since 2020, she concludes her insights of several scientific studies with practical work in her own practice for “Equine orthopeadics and rehabilitation”.

Rob Renirie

Rob Renirie´s passion and joy in his craft grew from the shared love of horses with his father. Rob started his career as an equestrian in Germany. He learned the job from Herman Scholten where he did his apprenticeship and became a state-qualified farrier. Following Herman’s advice, Rob refined his knowledge and specialization during the master course in Utrecht. He shod and still shoes top horses and went along to world championships and several Olympic Games.

Urszula Krzanowska

Urszula Krzanowska is a full-time farrier with MSc in Architecture, horse owner, horse rider, illustrator and researcher. She incorporates her architectural background into her farrier work and hoofcare educational projects, aiming to combine both scientific and empirical approach in order to get a thorough understanding of hoof morphology and its two-way relationship with conformation and posture. She publishes some of her work online as The Hoof Architect.

Dr Manuel Novales

Dr Manuel Novales, DVM (1984) and PhD (1991) in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Córdoba (Spain). He is Professor of Radiology at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Córdoba and Director of the PRE Horse Osteochondrosis Reading Center. He has more than 100 scientific articles, 180 communications at conferences and numerous presentations in various countries in Europe and Latin America.

Rodrigo Fernández

He studied as a Farrier from 1998-2002, graduating with Master Serge Y. Lardier. In 2003 he began working with the veterinarian Gaspar Casteljins at the La Equina Reference Hospital shoeing P.R.E for Classical Dressage. Since 2008 he specializes in High Competition Jumping and Driving horses until 2016. Since that date his dedication has been to work with High Handicap Polo horses.

Domenico Cellaro

Italian Professional Farrier, third generation. Farrier graduation in 1999 at the Military Veterinary School in Grosseto (Italy). Involved in scientific studies on Equine Locomotion. He designed, developed and created a special device that reproduces the Equine Musculoskeletal Forelimb with its functional and physiological positions and body weight, during the different stance phases of gaits. Developer of new educational methods, useful for the daily farrier and vet approach.

Dr David Argüelles

Dr David Argüelles, Dip ECVS, ACVSMR Resident. Professor of Surgical Pathology at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Córdoba. Head of the Equine Surgery Service at the Veterinary Clinical Hospital of the University of Córdoba.

Alejandro Moscoso

Franco-Mexican farrier. Diploma from the French school AOCDTF. Companion of Deber 2009 and of the Agri’Pole Saint Hilaire du Harcouet farrier school 2007. Specialty: Trotter racing and show jumping horses. Member of the BSI team (Biomechanics, Semiology, Imaging – training for farriers-). Currently working in Nantes France.

Monique Craig

Monique Craig has a degree in computer science engineering, then became a professional farrier and co-developed the Metron software with John Craig, and later invented the EponaShoe. Monique has spent many years researching, trimming and shoeing the hoof — as well as riding and training. She authored a book: “A Modern Look at The Hoof“. She has been a visiting scholar at CalPoly University for many years where she lectures in biomechanics for pre-veterinarian students.

John Craig

John Craig has a Phd in engineering. He is the author of “Robotics: Mechanics & Control” which is a leading university textbook for the engineering field of robotics. He has researched the hoof and shoeing systems for many years, and has been a speaker at the International Hoof Summit, and other venues. He is the developer of the Metron software used for in veterinary imaging. For the past 8 years he has been focused on using artificial intelligence to automate the understanding of veterinary images.

Aksel Vibe

Aksel Vibe, started a farrier business and vet clinic in Vågå Norway, where he now trains farriers and does remedial shoeing. 2016- AWCF exam and awarded Varnham trophy for best practical exam. He has trained seven apprentices over these years, held clinics, and trained close to one hundred others towards their qualifications. Held many clinics and lectures for farrier vets and other horse professionals in numerous countries over the world. Over these year he has worked hard to develop himself and been attending many clinics and seminars on a regular basis.

Sergio Pérez

Sergio Pérez Prieto, horse farrier, found a source of motivation in farriery and forging competitions to achieve his best version of the farriery he does every day. In 2018 he became part of the Spanish Blacksmithing and Forging Competition team for international competitions, being a finalist in the European championship that same year. In 2019 he completed training at the Fénix Hoofcare farrier school with EFFA certification from the European Farrier Federation. He also collaborates in the training of farriers by teaching farrier clinics in countries such as Spain, Mexico, Portugal, Russia and Italy.

David Ibáñez

David Ibáñez, farrier. With training in Spain since 2013, he continued with different European farriers. Him competing internationally and ranking in the top 5 in the last 3 European Championships. Most of his clients are highly competitive sport horses.
